Break The Diet Yo-Yo!

Please read the following story for a program  I will be offering soon. If you are like most people who read it, you will want me to release it NOW, but I really want to make sure it is just right before I do. The release date will be announced through my main blog page, so it will be very easy to find out when that happens – especially if you sign up for automatic alerts as a member to this blog.

If you added up all the weight you have lost and gained in the last decade, it would probably total more than one hundred pounds. How much effort did it take to lose that weight? How easy was it to gain it all back (or more)? This isn’t fair is it? You’re right. It’s not. You may have felt like you have tried it all, and if something did work, it was only temporary and all the weight came right back. It is understandable that you may now feel, or have felt at some point, like giving up on fitness completely.

What if I told you that I had a way for you to lose weight more easily, and as you lost it, the process got easier instead of harder? What if I told you it would be permanent as well, and that your weight-loss journey would only be a one-time thing? If you were taught how to lose 21 pounds of pure fat (or more) in 7 weeks with less effort than ever before and keep it off for good would you be interested in that program? Would you commit to it for 7 weeks?

If your answer is yes, then read on to find out how this discovery took place and why it is different from every other program on the planet. If you want to lose even more than 21 pounds, and would like to learn how to keep it going for as long as you want, and lose as much as you desire, then you are about to have your eyes opened wider than ever before. If you don’t feel like you are ready for this kind of revolution, then click away from this page now and come back to it later when you are ready. The story below is written not to convince you of anything, but simply to show you why this is different than anything else you have tried before. I will be posting more each week, so keep checking back for the continuation…

Part 1

This system is not a quick fix, crash diet, or any crazy scheme like you see in the infomercials. It is a 7 week process that is meant to change you for life. Your brain will literally be rewired, and you will think of yourself, exercise, and food differently than you ever imagined. The story starts with a little bit of history and background to give you a global view. Then you will see it turn into a concept, which will then turn into a belief system that you can apply to your own life.

I know it sounds like a little bit like a cult, and the people I have worked with on this sometimes call it “PJ voodoo,” but the reason they joke like this is because it really does work and they can’t explain it. You will experience this as well, and will see for yourself how different it really is from anything else you have tried or have even heard about before. If you are tired of the diet yo-yo and trying the same old ideas over and over with the same old failures, read on and discover something truly new!

One of my Face Book friends recently sent me a picture of myself from high school, and I was shocked at how much I have improved since then, and how much better I feel on all levels than when I was 18!

I bet you and I are a lot alike. No special genetics, never really great at sports, usually had to watch what we ate, never enjoyed exercise, and always loved good food! Well, this is me for sure, yet I sit here today on my 43rd birthday in the best shape of my life.

The most incredible part of this to me is that for the last 11 years I have averaged only 40 minutes of exercise per week, and I eat more calories than any point in my life. I have found the answer to exercise and nutrition, and am thrilled to get to share it with you now!

Today I decided I would set a personal stair climbing record up the 63 floor building I train in downtown. This would be my present to myself for turning 43. I did it with a time of 7 minutes and 33 seconds. This was a full 6 seconds faster than my previous PR. That’s a huge margin for a stair climber. I know I will only be faster when I’m 44. I get in better shape every year and feel younger as well. How did I get to this point just being an average guy with regular genetics? Most of it was from just being in the right place at the right time.

It all started back in 1966 when God decided that should be my birth year. This put me in college right when the research in exercise and nutrition was becoming popular. I started out as a psychology major, but thanks to an incredibly inspirational professor (who I now call Uncle Bob), I changed course and pursued a degree in Exercise Science instead. I quickly discovered to my excitement, that I was a pioneer in this new field. No one cared much about exercise before the 80’s, so the research was still in its infancy. I was reading studies and doing papers on discoveries that were so new, it felt like I was discovering a new world.

I learned that traditional training had been invented back in 1891 and no one knew any better because there wasn’t enough research to teach them otherwise. The most current new technique at the time was invented before I was born! My opportunity alarms went off in my brain and I threw myself into the research, determined to find a better way to get in shape.

My first research paper was such a ground breaker, it caused my professor to change his curriculum. This made me realize I could make a real difference in the field. I could discover, invent, and develop the next new wave in fitness! My parents always supported me and told me I could become anything I dreamt, so my belief system was already in place. Now the desire and the drive had lined up as well.

I wanted to find a solution to my frequent fitness plateaus. I needed to find a way to cut my exercise time down from the two hours a day I was spending in the gym. I yearned for a nutrition strategy that would satisfy my college appetite but would get me as lean as I desired. This excited me to such a degree, I could hardly put the books down. I practically lived in the library (we didn’t have the internet back then), and devoured the research. Armed with the newest scientific studies, I started experimenting on myself right away.

I quickly recruited “guinea pigs” and tried my ideas out on them. My college roommate Corky was a willing subject for any strange exercise idea or crazy nutrition scheme I wanted to try out because he was sick of the time consuming traditional methods as well. I even formed a group of university faculty and staff as a pilot project.

My faculty advisor then set me up with an internship at a local health club. More guinea pigs! I got a job at another club and then became the club manager at a third, and was able to quit the previous clubs so I could concentrate there. Corky helped me land that job. He happened to be the general manager for the company, so he got me right in (another lucky break). This kept me constantly supplied with new subjects to experiment with.

These test subjects were more than willing to participate. They were glad to try something new. They found that traditional training took way too much time, had a high rate of injury, was boring, and made their muscle bigger – something they didn’t usually want. Most people wanted to get stronger and more toned, but not bigger. I knew there must be a way to accomplish this goal, so I kept plugging away with experiment after experiment.

These peculiar techniques were starting to create a buzz. People were asking me to be their regular personal trainer. I started to build my own side business and created a niche. My first client, Melissa, referred me more clients. Those clients referred more and so on, until I was able to quit the manager job and train people out of their homes and local clubs full time. My experiments continued and my clients simply ate it up. The results were better than my competitors, my methods were safer, and the time required was also reduced.

Another discovery was that my clients were getting toned and strong without bulking up. This was especially peculiar because all the research correlated strength with size. That was because all the research used traditional training as the model. I was using a different model and was defying the research. What a rush! I was now the fitness pioneer I had set out to become!

My clients were happy and I was getting the results I was after, but I needed more subjects. Moving out of the club atmosphere and into the personal training business limited my subject base. One of my old bosses offered me a job at an employee health club for a medical insurance company. I initially turned him down because it didn’t pay enough as a stand alone job, and I would have to stop training my own clients. He counter offered a couple weeks later with a more attractive salary and a shift that would allow me to keep my own clients. I accepted and was provided a new set of willing and happy test subjects.

My experiments lead me to a multi-protocol concept. I discovered that changing methods got rid of the typical fitness plateaus people experienced with traditional training. I also found that when the muscle is trained to full fatigue, only 1 set is needed. My test subjects also proved that if that set was long enough, they would achieve endurance as well as strength – all in the same workout. Then I found that if little to no rest was given between sets, cardiovascular fitness was increased as well. I now had a 20 minute workout that delivered strength, endurance, and cardiovascular fitness all together! Traditional training required 3 different workouts, all requiring an hour each to accomplish this same goal.

My original client, Melissa, had become so enthusiastic about fitness and her progress, she wanted to open her own personal training studio. I offered my methods to be used at her new club. She declined because she felt they were too complex and thought  implementing them would be too arduous. She opted for the single method concept for simplicity and ran her club named the X Gym under this model.

A couple years went by and the insurance company I was working at went through a merger and I was laid off. I continued to train my own clients with wonderful success, but I really wanted to get back in a setting where I could have more test subjects. When I was talking to Melissa one day, she offered me the X Gym. I told her I didn’t know it was for sale and she said it wasn’t, but she thought my protocols would take it to the next level and she was looking to move on anyway. She and her husband Bill made me an offer I couldn’t refuse. It really was one of those “one in a million” opportunities people typically only hear about.

I took over the X Gym and most of my clients followed me there. My clients combined with the client base Melissa had built, gave me my subject base back, but with a more controlled environment than ever. It was a dream come true! I was able to step up my experiment type and frequency by leaps and bounds.

The timing of my birth, opportunities along the way, lucky breaks and a supportive upbringing had all worked together to form the perfect conditions for the creation of a true fitness revolution. To this date (5/17/09), I have calculated that I have spent over 5,000 hours decoding research in exercise science, and more than 22,000 hours training individuals in one-on-one sessions. Not many trainers can match that kind of experience, and the ones who can have been doing the same old stuff all that time instead of trying new things and discovering better ways.

Not all of my experiments worked have worked over the years though. In fact, most of them have failed, but out of more than 550 failed exercise method experiments, 11 have succeeded in a big way. Of those 11 methods, the top 7 have made it into the X Gym protocols we now have today. You get to be spared the trouble of experiencing my failures, and can now benefit only from the successes. You don’t have to put in the 20+ years to find the prefect solution. I have done that for you.

Forming the nutrition concepts took a similar journey. The calorie-in, calorie-out theory was so old, I figured it was just as flawed as traditional exercise methods were. Dieting was too much work and required too much willpower. The overwhelming majority of dieters who lost weight, just gained it all back (or more) when they went off the diet. Why was this? There had to be a solution.

I started playing around with types of calories and the timing of those calories. I discovered that not all calories are the same as the outdated dietitians claimed. 3,000 calories of butter could fit on a plate, yet 3,000 calories of lettuce would take up the whole table top. Would someone really get just as fat if they ate 3,000 calories of butter than if they ate 3,000 calories of lettuce? Traditional theory said yes. Simple common sense said no, and the research said heck no!

This was more than exciting. I could be a pioneer in exercise and nutrition at the same time! I set out to solve the diet yo-yo and to find the cure for the obesity epidemic which was growing every day. Why were Americans becoming more educated but fatter? As the number of health clubs increased, so did our waistlines. Our country had the most personal trainers per ca pita of any nation on earth, yet we were quickly becoming the fattest country. Could it be that we all had it backwards, and we were doing everything wrong? Why was weight loss always so temporary?

Even my own early clients and test subjects would gain fat back after I had stopped training them. Old patterns came back and so did the weight. There had to be a solution for that as well. This brought me to the study of the human mind and how it worked.

I actually started out as a psychology major in college before switching to exercise science, so the interest was already there. I found that when people shifted the way they thought about them self or their “mind’s eye”, they were able to change their patterns and keep the weight off. It was also easier to lose the weight, and willpower was no longer a factor. Their brain was now working with their body instead of against it.

Part 2

It didn’t take long to discover that the brain was indeed the answer. The research showed me that the brain is so powerful, it can even control the body’s metabolic rate! Even thinking a certain way can burn more calories, and can help reduce body fat. I was totally blown away! It was like finding the Holy Grail for fat loss!

I also discovered that fat people think a certain way and skinny people think another way, just like rich people think differently than poor people. There are plenty of books out there that have taught people how to get rich by re wiring their brain, so it just made sense that this same process would apply to getting leaner.

I started applying these principles to my clients and found that as they changed the way they thought, their actions changed, their moods changed, they regained control, and their cravings even changed. They really were starting to think like skinny people and were actually becoming skinny for the first time on their lives, with little to no willpower!

Not only did they lose the fat easier and faster, they also found it effortless to keep the fat off once they reached their goals! Because their brain was re wired, they ended up with a different body AND a different brain! Now they thought like a lean person and had no trouble staying that way by making the choices effortlessly to make that happen. The struggle was gone, and the yo-yo weight loss pattern was broken once and for all.

I put these brain training techniques in my book “Cracking Your Calorie Code,”  but since I published it last year, I have learned of even more techniques and have developed the most powerful methods yet. These are the methods I am making available to a select group very soon.

I am also updating my exercise methods to cut the workout time requirement even further. These will be available as well with easy to follow videos. I have developed new nutrition strategies too, with the most intense fat burning recipes yet. I have even started recording MP3 files that re-wire brain circuits just by listening to them while relaxing!

All this will be available within weeks for those who are interested in joining this online course. The course will include email coaching from me and tele-seminars where members can ask me questions and discuss their experience with others. An online community will also be available to chat with me and others from the group so questions are answered and guidance is given to insure total and permanent success.

The reason I am offering this is because I just can’t wait to get the word out! Printing another book takes too long. If you found the cure for cancer or diabetes, wouldn’t you want to tell everyone as soon as possible? Well, I have found the cure for the yo-yo diet rollercoaster, and I just can’t keep it a secret!

This will however, be done in conjunction with my new book, so members of this group will also get digital chapters as I am writing them- months before the new book is available in stores.

This will be a 7 week course, with specific instructions and programming along the way. Each week will provide:

  • 3 delicious choices for every meal and snack
  • An online food logger
  • A weekly shopping list
  • Super fast and easy recipes
  • Specific exercise prescriptions
  • Custom feedback on your workouts
  • Brain training techniques and simple re-wiring exercises
  • Tele -seminars to talk with the group and PJ about your experiences and program
  • Downloadable MP3 files to train the subconscious brain in Alpha state

Part 3

I was told that I should open this for enrollment and see how many people sign up. I don’t want to do that however. My passion is working with individuals on this stuff, and I don’t want to spread myself too thin. I know I can handle up to 100 people with the help of online technology, but since 7 is my favorite number, I’m going to limit it this time to only 77 people . That way I’m sure everyone will get the attention they need to succeed with these techniques.

It was also suggested that I charge an upfront fee for the whole 7 week course, but I’m not going to do that either. I only want those who are getting continued results to invest in the course as they go, so I will offer it in 1 week segments. If you are satisfied with the program in the first week, then you will gladly enroll for the second week and so on. If you are not satisfied, then you don’t renew, and you pay nothing more.

My marketing people advised that since this is a permanent life-changing experience, customers would be willing to invest thousands. After all, the average person has already spent thousands of dollars on gaining and losing the same pounds year after year, so stopping that cycle is a huge time and cost savings right there. To find a solution to a lifelong struggle would be almost priceless. I agree, but I’m not one to exploit that. I just want to show people my new techniques, and to be compensated based on the results I deliver. I haven’t decided a price point yet, but it’s not going to be thousands. I’ll figure out something that is fair, and makes it worth the time I have invested so far.

I’m still putting the final touches on the program, so it’s not ready yet, but I can tell you that I am more excited about this than anything I have put together so far! The transformation among my select guinea pigs is truly revolutionary and is indeed permanent. I really feel like I have finally unlocked the secret to not only breaking the diet yo-yo code once and for all, but the secret to cracking the willpower code too!

My niece (one of my guinea pigs) just told me tonight that she realized for the first time in her life, shopping at the grocery store was no longer a willpower issue! She said “I’m not overwhelmed with cravings anymore when I go into the grocery store, and I no longer have any desire to buy anything that’s bad.”

This is just the tip of the iceberg. More testimonials and additional program info in part 4…
